Catherine O'Connell Attends New Zealand Wine Events in Tokyo

Catherine recently attended a special wine dinner at Wakanui Restaurant in Tokyo featuring wines from Coal Pit, one of Central Otago's boutique wineries. The evening provided an opportunity to enjoy outstanding New Zealand wines paired with Wakanui's renowned cuisine while reconnecting with members of Tokyo's vibrant New Zealand business and wine community.

In quick succession, Catherine then attended the annual New Zealand Wine Fair at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo. Organised by Shin Saito and his team, the event brought together a wide range of New Zealand wineries, importers and industry professionals to showcase the diversity and quality of New Zealand wines available in Japan.

A notable addition this year was the inclusion of New Zealand gin producers, reflecting the growing international recognition of New Zealand's premium spirits sector. Both events were a reminder of how New Zealand producers continue to build their reputation in Japan through quality products, strong partnerships, and a shared passion for bringing the best of New Zealand to the market.
